iTunes Review

Kiss may have been maligned as flash(pots) in the pan even after their breakthrough in the mid-'70s, but to fans watching them from the gallery, in their S&M-gone-mad garb and three-chord glory, there was simply no other rock band. Alive! captures Kiss in a series of fantastic Technicolor explosions that include "Rock 'n' Roll All Nite" and "Deuce." A monster hit that captured this pop-metal juggernaut perfectly, Alive also jumpstarted the move toward the larger-than-life, arena-rock sounds of the '80s.

KISS Alive

This record will make converts of any non- KISS fans out there. No other live act recording really captures the raw power and spectacle of the band that introduced the world to the idea of a Rock "show". This record set the stage for countless other acts and is still considered the standard by which live albums are measured.Buy the record and you'll find yourself marching with the KISS Army!

the audience "noise" was added later in the studio. read that somewhere... its a fact. but still a great album. use to be a personal favorite.

Quintessential Live Album

This was the catalyst to my musical awakening. Before this album, I had no idea what I really liked as far as music went. I popped this CD in my old player and then came my love for KISS and all things rock & roll. My musical tastes have largely expanded and I've heard music that is technically/musically better, but this album is definitely better than the sum of its parts. And there are of course great flashes of what makes them the Gods of glam/hard rock in the '70s and everything you want in a show. I'll finally be seeing them in Chicago next month and I'll get see what had originally made all those fans back in '75 yell like they did in that album. You wanted the best, you got the best. The hottest band in the world- KISS!

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s

Rooted in the campy theatrics of Alice Cooper and the sleazy hard rock of glam rockers the New York Dolls, Kiss became a favorite of American teenagers in the '70s. Most kids were infatuated with the look of Kiss, not their music. Decked out in outrageously flamboyant costumes and makeup, the band fashioned...
