I hate spoken word albums.
No, seriously. That said, this is not a spoken word album. I'm not sure what it is. My favorite rock album? Some gay dance hits? Ambient panty dropping magic? A "jam" for those of us unfamiliar with hemp and self-made-patchwork pants? What I'm trying to say is there is something for everyone. Woves-a-Twitch-a-Go-Go makes me happy to be alive.
THE MUSIC IS JUST AS GORGEOUS AS THE WORDS
SAINT MARKS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING YOU'VE EVER HEARD. IT IS ABOUT A MAN WHO GOES INTO A CHURCH, THEN LINKS THE DESTROYED CHURCH TO HIMSELF. THE ALAN THICKE SONG SCARES ME... IS THAT GROWING PAINS?

He is one of the most inivative writers of our time and also a down dude. If you get a chance to see him live do it. if you get a chance to buy his book "I Love You is Back" do it. Check out his band The John Wilkes Kissing Booth. I urge you, if you are even remotely interested in spoken word, slam poetry or words in general; buy derrick's work.
