Stay Golden!
The debut offering from Pronto falls between 70's AM radio and power pop, sometimes all at once. Equal parts Randy Newman, 'Four Cornered Night' era Jets to Brazil. Listening to Pronto's sound and song structure, one can hear how Mikael Jorgensen has helped shape the sound of Wilco and vice versa. Jorgensen, drummer Greg O'Keeffe and their rotating list of talent (members of Iron & Wine, Cat Power and Califone) give midas a run for his money with All is Golden. 'Good Friends Have Gone' is heartbreakingly beautiful while 'When I'm On the Rocks' has a great breezy, sun drenched summer feel to it. 'I Think So' is a rocking closing track which just falls apart before fading out. Lyrical themes seem to range between cynism (Precious Like a Sneer, Monster, Say It All Night) and sentiment (Good Friends Have Gone, Big Sleeved Man). These songs hold up on their own, but also work cohesively, giving the listener a sense of a bigger picture. Go ahead and click that buy album button.

I've been waiting a long time for this album to become available on itunes and it's GREAT! Literally, all the songs are well thought out and well done. I love it!
