Not your mother's rap
This is politically challenging rap from young British Muslims who probably don't share your mother's views on terrorism or anything else for that matter. Fun-Da-Mental will be labeled everything from apologists to sympathizers to terrorists themselves, but what they truly are are rappers with a dissenting political slant who are fighting for the equal rights of all British people, including Muslims. Musically and lyrically, Aki Nawaz and his bandmates are quite gifted, and should be respected for their talents. This is a great record and deserves to be blasted. Turn it up, bring the noise.
relentless
Fun-Da-Mental is best known in Europe for the political music they pioneered in the 1990s with discs like Seize The Time and groundbreaking work with Pop Will Eat Itself. Even back then, the fusion group was audacious in its radicalism. All Is War is a solid progression for the band's sound and a development in lyricism that is sure to spark debate. A cursory glance is sure to win Fun-Da-Mental few friends, but a deeper look will reveal a complex philosophical framework, just as in previous recordings. ITunes would be helpful in consolidating the many Fun-Da-Mental band tags under one artist, for all this crew's recordings are fascinating sonically and lyrically.
