Arguably the Godfather of Latino hip-hop, Frost has been in the game since the early ‘80s. Hailing from East Los Angeles, he was originally known as Kid Frost, and in his early days was a breakdancer with legendary L.A. crew Uncle Jamm’s Army. Best known for his breakout single "La Raza," he dropped his debut album Hispanic Causing Panic in 1990 and also assembled a supergroup called Latin Alliance which included like-minded homies Mellow Man Ace, A.L.T., and A Lighter Shade of Brown, among others. Over the following two decades he released ten more albums on majors and indies alike, staying busy in the studio while also getting into acting and voiceover work. All Oldies is his first full-length since 2007, and is his best work in many years. His flow is still as sharp as ever, and the production is outstanding; a butter- smooth blend of tracks built entirely off chopped up oldies, in the vein of classic Ghostface. Lyrically he draws mostly on his boss status, proud heritage, and reflections of Cali street life. A great album from an underappreciated icon.
