Album Review
An excessively rich and gorgeous five-song EP from the Mercury Program, who are growing to become recognized as one of the most ingenious and talented bands active today. All the Suits Began to Fall Off shows a remarkable progression from their first full-length, From the Vapor of Gasoline, as their songwriting has become more tactful, interesting, and therefore effective. The bare traces of vocal stylings found interlaced in previous efforts have been completely removed, allowing the music to bloom more on its own. Tortoise better watch their ass, because in no time at all these guys could be knocking the block right out from under their feet.

Music that you can listen to for years...
And never get tired of it. I've been listening to TMP for years now and haven't got tired of a single track. It's hard to say what album is better (I decided to mix up tracks from "All The Suits Begin to Fall Off" and "A Data Learn The Language." I used "Marianas" for the soundtrack to my Senior Film and couldn't have chosen a better track. TMP create a musical melody unheard of by any other band today. Each track is composed of easy listening relaxation tones with a cutting edge presentation somewhere in the middle. None of these tracks need lyrics (and none do) because they are all open to interpretation to who ever is listening. If you're unsure about purchase both albums or any of their albums at all, I encourage you to at least purchase "Slightly Drifting" from "All the Suits..." and "Egypt" from "A Data Learn..."
buy "All The Suits.." first!
A Data Learn The Language is certainly a terrific album. But, this e.p. is where it's at! Every track on it is incredible. "The Secret To Quiet" is most rockin' to start, then it falls into a whimsical string induced bliss. The percussion alone on this e.p. makes it worth owning (Yeah, Dave!). "There Are Thousands..." has this ongoing high-hat thing that just shines! The few times I've seen TMP, they've opened with "marianas", so it's a favorite as well. Just get it, you won't regret it.
