Album Review

Does that high-pitched wail sound familiar? Well, odds are if you're reading this, you should know it. For Vinnie's second album, good ol' Mark Slaughter (who would soon — with Invasion bassist Dana Strum — form the even more successful and creatively named hair metal band Slaughter) takes over vocals from the departed Robert Fleischman, and while his high-pitched wails are a bit hard to take, his vocals give this record a bit more consistency than the debut. Outside of that it's kinda just more of the same. Unfortunate for Mr. Vincent given his obvious talents, this sort of "metal" that somehow thrived from 1985-1990 (or so) wasn't the type of rock that was open to too much experimentation. So what you get here is a pretty run-of-the-mill hair rock album: rockers, ballads, solos, etc.

VINNIE VINCENT INVASION!!!!

This is my favorite of the Invasion albums but both that they have done are great!!
There is one more that Vinnie has done before he was in kiss called treasure by the band treasure if you like this album I recommend that one too.

His best album

This is definitley his best album, and It's edgeier than his first one. The songs are better and Mark Slaughter's voice is great. V V really shows who he is in his solo work. Very underatted.

This is the 2003 Re-Master

Which means that Love Kills, one of the songs from Nightmare on Elm Street 4, has been butchered in two sections. To someone who may not have heard the song before, it will make those areas a bit off. To someone who loved the song, it's absolutely abhorrent.

After getting two songs here, I'm not getting the rest of the album via iTunes. I'm disappointed enough and if they've chopped up any of the other songs, I'll be foaming at the mouth livid. I'll just wait patiently for my non-remaster copy of the CD to come in the mail.

Although he forged a brief solo career in the late '80s, guitarist Vinnie Vincent is best known for his short stint in Kiss, from 1982-1984. Born Vincent Cusano on August 5, 1952, in Connecticut, he picked up guitar at a very early age, inspired by the speed of bluegrass (!) and rock & roll. Throughout the '70s, he recorded an unnoticed album with the band Treasure, and paid the bills by doing session work (for Laura Nyro, Dan Hartman, and writing music for the TV show Happy Days).
