Great American Choral Music at its Finest
As a survey album by different composers, Charles Bruffy's 1998 release remains one of the finest choral recordings I've heard to date. The professional talent of the Kansas City Chorale is displayed in an elegant manner allowing the audience to revel in the energy exerted by the performers. The unsurpased eloquence of Paulette Votava Resch's voice in 'I Wanna Be Ready' stands as a testament to how graceful the professionally trained voice can be. Additionally, Todd Berry's powerful solo in 'My God is a Rock' serves as the perfect foreground to the sheer grandeur of the Chorale's potential. This repertoire of choral music far surpasses any other in the American style.
