Feathery Wings=Incredible
There are many great songs on this album, including Dead Girls, Almost Human, Dunce, and the Headless Waltz. However, this list of great songs is not complete without Feathery Wings, the best song on this cd, and possibly, of all time. This was my first cd of Voltaire's, and I was not disappointed. I now own all of his cd's, and this is still his best cd. I recommend it to every fan, plus anyone who wants to listen to Voltaire to see if you like him. Definately get this, but know some songs are depressing (he wrote this after his daughter commited suicide).
'Almost Human' is filled with dark humor and gothic goodness
This is one of my favorite albums, hands down. Voltaire's gothic genius truly shines here, on an album filled with songs about the unusual and inhuman, or 'Almost Human'. Standouts would have to be the title tack, The Night, and, of course, the funniest song ever written about Necrophilia...'Dead Girls'. If you have a dark sense of humor and enjoy a little good violin, old-world-esque music, you will love this album. And, of course, you get the dark voice of Voltaire laid over this brilliant music as well. Five stars from me. Buy this album and support a great artist!
Voltaire
Not one to be shy about his humor, Voltaire is not an artist that every one can enjoy, but is certainly one that every one should listen to at least once, giving him the benifet of an entire album before you entirely pass judgement on his works. His song trouch on many differant subjects rainging from traditional songs reborn with a goth-noir to plotting the deth of the people who live upstairs from you. In my personal view, his turns of phrase are always at the very least creative and the instrumentals are worth the download.
