God, no...
No, no, no, no, no!
A bright spot...
King's Cross Foretaste is in fact quite good, as far as tribute albums go. Not so sure about some of the others, but hey... I keep waiting for a major artist to cover Rent. Still hasn't happened...
Alright - it's a Daring and Bold Tribute to the Elder Statesmen of British Pop!
Don't expect sound-likes, because these AREN'T one. And I would cut these artist some slack, knowing that they would only perform cover songs of the Pet Shop Boys out of admiration and respect for the Legendary British Song-writing and Performing Duo who had been indicated by some as second only to Lennon/McCartney. It is a BOLD courage to even hold a candle at the Pet Shop Boys. Afterall, the greatest complement is indeed, imitation. Enjoy the songs as what it is -- a Tribute to the Elder Statesmen of British Pop, not as a Pet Shop Boys' lookalike or soundalike!
