Amen Goes Right....HERE!
Everett Drake has an enviable history in gospel music. He has been a part of it's innate history....even though this is his first solo album. He studied under the greats and, you've seen him for years on Bobby Jones Gospel, and now, has finally unveiled his first project as a stand alone artist. Legendary producer Derrick Lee shows the range of styles that Everett's emotive, gripping, and yet, smoothing voice can wrap itself around. He duets wtih Adriann Lewis (from RIZEN) on the kick-off track "That Name" that has energy for days! He teased us with the title track, "Amen Goes Right There", last season on Bobby Jones Gospel...and the album version does not disappoint, with it's contemporary flair, but with Everett's signature vocals, driving the political, cultural and spiritual message, all the way home. Not one track of filler....but my favorite has to be his cover of Rosie Wallace's "God Cares", and the two-part tour de force, "He's Our God". Pick up "Amen Goes Right There" and discover what many of us already know: Everett Drake has been one of the best kept secrets in gospel music....but not anymore!!

This album is undeniably one to contend with the top gospel records of the year. Having known Everett for the majority of my life, he is one of gospel's greatest contenders. If you have the opportunity to see Everett perform this album live, take advantage. Everett has been on the gospel scene for a number of years and he continues to get better and better and better. If you know Dr. Bobby Jones, then you know Everett Drake. Awesome job Everett!!! FBSI is proud and back you 100%!
