One of the best folk albums/artists I've heard
I was lucky enough to see Mr. Bondy in concert back in October, and my eyes were opened. He was the opener for The Cold War Kids, and I had never heard of him before. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to see him and attain his autograph. Bondy had previously been a part of a grunge rock style band, but I feel that he has found his roots in folk. The lyrics are touching and thought-out, and the guitar shines with what seems like simplicity. However, after a few listens, you realize just how talented a guitarist he really is, and it compliments the lyrics perfectly. None of the songs are over done or too flashy, they're at times raw and direct, and at others they are elegant and soft ("Of the sea"). Whether you buy this version or the Fat Possum version, you need to own this album. I eagerly await more from A.A. Bondy. This is how Folk Rock should be done.

leave big corporate conglomerations out of this and bring on the music.A.A. bundy has a lot of talent, if the "real version" were up i'd buy it. but since that's not this guy's fault, and he's got a great sound, i'm going to buy this one. his music certainly is not only one star. just becuase some record company messed up doens't mean his talents shouldn't be recognized. Great sound give it a shot
