This album is in reverse order
Now I've listned to the album a few times and don't get me wrong. I love T&L but this CD definitely dropped the ball. This album can in now way be compared to their amazingly astounding breakout freshman CD When Dreams Become Reality. American Rock N' Roll was good i'd give it medicocre review because it lacked depth. Where did all the amazing guitar work go, that we saw so heavily in the first CD. There were no shred sessions at all. This CD should have been there first CD and not When Dreams Become Reality. They are a truly christian band and i can say nothing against that because I love the band for that... but instead of progressing and maturing in American Rock N'Roll... they clearly went in reverse order. They took several steps back instead of going forward. Not what I was hoping for. So if you are a die hard T&L fan and loved the first album and are expecting the same amount of effort and the same sounds... get ready to be let down. It's not what it should have been. I have no idea how long it took them to produce When Dreams Become Reality but they should have taken the time to do the same as they did for that CD. This CD felt rushed. At least to me. I really hope they take the time and do what they need to do for a third CD.
Thank god for Thieves and Liars
It's nice to finally hear an album that is straight to the point and in your face. This is what rock is all about. Stripped down, old school, balls out rock! All these so called, self titled "rock bands" should take notes from Thieves and Liars.
Good step in the right direction
In a world where the radio is polluted with watered-down pop that people think of as "rock", it's nice to see some newer bands who stick to their guns, DON'T sell out, and release some old school in-your-face rock. They remind me of Priestess and Airbourne put together, which is pretty cool. If you aren't one of those posers who thinks that Nickelback is the best "rock" band in the world, this album is for you.
