Album Review

His follow-up, And the Winner Is..., was much more clever and entertaining than his debut, with a couple of hits ("Ya Bad Chubbs," "Stop That Train," the title track) to boot. Chubb Rock featured sharp humor with first-rate samples and production, plus insightful commentary on ghetto violence and the ignorance of the NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences).

Customer Reviews

Overall this was a nice album for back in ’89.

Back when I was in college...Chubb Rock jumped upon the scene, made some green, and along the way he dropped some nice liks while Howie Tee provided a luscious and heavily sampled landscape. You’ll notice a lot of tracks on this album utilized samples from The Meters, etc. before other cats got into the crates. Overall this was a nice album for back in ’89. I have still have the vinyl!

One of the best lyricists in hip-hop

I wore this tape out back in the day. Chubbs had some of the best lyrics ever and Howie Tee's beats were dope. Buy this if you want to hear some of the best old school hip-hop.

*****NICE*****

TOO BAD THEY DON'T HAVE ALOT OF THE OLD SKOOL REMIXES...BUT I'D LOVE TO GET...."YABBA DABBA DO"... THAT WAS A CRAZY SONG AND THE BEAT WAS BANANNAS!!!!!!!!!!
