Customer Reviews
Excellent
Without any doubd Upshaw once again proves how powerful and meaningful a serious performance can be. Technically and musically, perfect! A must have recording!
Blah!
I gave only two stars because I can not bear to give Ms Upshaw, who does possesss a beautiful voice and has done great work in the past, only one. Her attempt at singing baroque music is, however, just plain horrid. What was she thinking? I can only assume that her attempt at swooping up to the notes was intended to be heard as expressive detail to the text. All I can say is that it was a failed attempt. Her mentor Jan DeGaetani would most assuredly, had she lived to hear this, not be amused.
