Album Review
Born in Denmark but beginning her musical career in New York, it was in Japan that Annekei first made her name as a recording artist, with this eponymous album marking her debut. Musically, smooth R&B, singer/songwriter pop is the order of the day, exemplified by the single "Brother," and "Close Your Eyes," her winning song from Showtime at the Apollo in 2003.

Annekei's Smashing Debut!
Annekei clearly demonstrates that she is a singer-songwriter/musician with a sultry voice and the confidence of a seasoned veteran. The quality of her vocals on her tracks are suberb. This debut serenades your heart strings and gives you a glimpse of a New York artist spreading her wings. From the jazz infused pop soundscape of Bull Fight to the Christina Aguileresque ballad N.Y.C this a first class debut for a star on the rise. Add this album to your playlist and keep it on repeat.
Annekei
I've continued to enjoy this positive album. If "The Voice Within" were the only song I liked to listen to over and over it would be worth the cost of the whole album. However, that's not the case as each song offers another look into Annekei's creative singing and songwriting talent. Her jazz/pop standards reminds me of a relaxing night with satifying performers at a jazz club. The kind you stay at until the music stops and then reluctantly leave. So you can see the "repeat" button on my CD player is a problem. Thanks to iTunes for making it available to the USA. I look forward to her next album (coming soon I heard).
