It was pleading requests from their legion of fans (known as “lightbulbs”) that inspired Anthem Lights to record acoustic versions of fan favorites from the CCM quartet’s eponymous 2011 debut album. And though the band has swapped electric guitars for acoustic ones, Anthem Lights: The Acoustic Sessions EP plays with all the polished production of their prior recordings. A stripped-down version of “Can’t Shut Up” opens the EP. What’s immediately noticeable is how flawlessly each of the four members sings—whether individually or in harmony, they nail each part with utter precision. Similarly, in this guitar-and-piano reworking, “Circles" leaves plenty of room for the guys to let their vocals soar. (The string section tagged onto the end is an elegant touch.) “Can’t Get Over You” sticks close to the original ballad, with each member taking turns crooning. Anthem Lights cover dcTalk’s “In the Light,” turning the tune into their own thanks in big part to an incredibly soulful cameo sung by Jamie Grace.

This is a MUST OWN for the die-hard Anthem Lights fan!! This stripped down version of their music really let's you hear the incredibly tight harmonies. God truly put these young men together! Their voices blend like they were born to do just that. Come on Lightbulbs, get the army together and support these guys and their phenomenal music!!!

These guys are AMAZING! They lead me to Christ 7 months ago and has impacted my life for the past year and a half since I've known them. They have outstanding vocals and a phenomenal passion for Christ.
