Album Review
The Miggs render an entertaining set of pub rock on Anyway, a sturdy collection of tracks that display classic pop songcraft, dynamic vocal harmonies, and solid musicianship. Akin to mainstream rockers of the past three generations, this San Francisco-based quartet, led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Don Miggs, has mastered the art of suspense: The verses are tense, the solos are crisp, and the choruses often explode with a melodic flourish. The Miggs make no bones about their influences, as in "Between the Lines," which deadpans the spirited satire of Elvis Costello and the Attractions, or the overtly raucous Replacements via Rockpile vibe on "Hello World." But "Wish" is a worthy arena rock dirge, and the title track transverses dance, acid rock, and bubblegum all within a span of three minutes. The Miggs haven't reinvented the wheel on this outing, but they succeed as working class heroes.

Welcome to the Soundtrack of Our Life
I found Miggs quite by accident as I was surfing myspace for local bands to perform for a Hurricane fundraiser, but it was an accident that was welcomed in my life. Little did I realize that I would absolutely fall in love with this band and its pop/rock music. Miggs' debut album, "Anyway," is filled with emotion. The emotions are human, ones that every listener can relate to, those of sadness and adulation for love are expressed in the beautiful lyrics written by Don Miggs who combines his lyrical talent with that of guitarist and lead singer. His strong vocals on this album are especially moving as his voice expresses the heartfelt feelings of love, pain and joy. "Taste" has moved to being one of my all time favorite songs. It is a beautiful song that speaks to the experiences of life and the roller coaster of our lives. Whether joy or pain each song will capture some feeling you have experienced in your life and bring you back for more listening pleasure.
Anyway - what a way!
I came across this band in 2001 and was very impressed with their debut Anyway. Don Miggs (vocals) can express his emotions through the lyrics and the melody. The song Taste is one beautiful song, so it To Be Alone and Wish. Lie to You, Anyway, Hello World are more up-beat. A great album - listen to the songs and you will truly get Miggs.
