THE best US band right now.
if you don't have any tracks by The National on your ipod, you are uncool, and probably too busy collecting Panic At The Disco! b-sides to be interested in this band. You are also probably 13 yrs old. The National make music too smart for you. For the rest of you cool kids, 'Apartment Story' is a standout track from one of the best lps of 2007. The B-side is a live Springsteen cover and wonderful. Begin your download immediately.
Great Band!
They performed this (Mansion) at a tribute to Bruce at the Wintergarden here in NYC a few years ago. It was the first time ever hearing them, and I haven't stopped listening since. Also I have seen them live here in NYC a few times, they are amazing! - there are a handful of musicians/bands that have really had an affect on me - Led Zepplin, The Stones, Talking Heads, The Smiths & now The National. That's good company!!!
Good package
Sometimes itunes surprises me. I just read that a Fergie music video costs as much as this single. Apartment Story is one of my favorite songs and the Bruce Springsteen is gorgeous. I never heard the Springsteen influence in their usic before.
