Customer Reviews
Really, Really For The Fans. No Really.
From the moment I heard "Waht's On Your Mind" I was in love with InSoc all the way through "Where The I Divides". Even since then what the band has put out has been eneven, at best. I know that Kurt (the lead singer) was putting material out under the name but was really solo. Paul brought a band back within the last year or so with an EP and an album but that was more like a shadow of the InSoc I used to know and love. So I thought that getting this compilation of rarities from the "Gool Old Days" might be my last chance to pick something up that would be more like what I used to love but, well, it wasn't. With the exception of the 2007 & 2008 updates to some of the older songs this is a lot like what these guys were putting out when they were in high school on their way to hitting it big. It has the old analog synthesizer sounds, poor quality live recordings, etc. If that is what you want then this is for you. I don't regret my purchase but I might have held off had I know what I was going to get.
Early Material
This album is a collection of early material from Information Society. We had some of these old records at my college radio station. This album is definitely for the InSoc completist who wants to hear what they sounded like prior to making it big with "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)". You can definitely hear InSoc in these tracks, but the production on some of them isn't great. Don't get this confused with InSoc's new album Synthesizer which is fantastic, but also a bit of a throwback to their eighties sound.
