Surprised to see this here!

Trip was one of my main staples back in the late 80s. Growing up in MN, I saw these guys a few times live, and their skill is not to be denied. Matt Wilson teamed up with John Munson and Elaine Harris on drums (a rare female stand-up drummer). This album was before Matt's brother Dan joined the group. Great vocal harmonies mixed with bouncy drumming produced a great music combination. I don't know if it's nostalgia or not, but dang these songs sound great after all this time. Note: Dan Wilson and John Munson went on to form "Semisonic".

Between the time of the 80's hair bands and the rise of grunge

Trip Shakespeare floated around the midwest performing the best live shows of any band I have ever seen. Their vocals were amazing and the songs were unique in sound and story. Some of my best memories of that time were from their shows and the people and events that surrounded the show. This album is poorly mixed but is a must for any fan who ever saw them play live.

Must have from a great band

This band was criminally underappreciated during its time. This particular album is a bit rough around the edges (e.g., the original Pearle) but contains a few of their classic tracks (Stop the Winter, Fireball).
