Ari Gold's Soulful Debut Was Ahead Of Its Time!
This debut CD was what made me an Ari Gold fan with his smoove voice and the honesty in his lyrics-all with a very soulful and catchy sound. While Justin Timberlake was still singing bubble gum pop in a boy band, Ari was already singing R&B and soul and also mixes in some funky house. He isnt afraid to use male pronouns like on "Write Me A Love Song" --and this was at the turn of the millenium! This album introduced me to "Wave Of You" before that gorgeous Herb Ritts tribute video came out. The song "Home" is a classic love song that needs to be covered by more artists and "Things I Need to Hear" is a perfect guitar-pop shuffler. Other standouts are "See Through Me" and "Don't Come For Me" in which Ari turns gay slang into an R&B survival song. The production on this is top notch...can't believe he's an indie! Can't wait for his new album in 2007!!
The First Album
"See Through Me" is gorgeous and I love this version of "Home" which I first heard on Kevin Aviance's debut album. "Give Me All Your Love" has that early Madonna feel and I've seen Ari sing "Lucky Star" in the middle of it. Ari Gold is definitely the gay Madonna and its about time we had one who's really on our team!

I just heard the song "Things I Need To Hear" in the film Boy Culture. I love that song!! And "Home" is definitely a classic! "Give Me All Your Love" reminds me of early Madonna. Other standouts are "See Through Me," "Write Me A Love Song" and "Wave Of You."
