Album Review
This was Armored Saint's first 12" EP, and while hardly earth-shattering creatively speaking, it served to get the band signed to Chrysalis Records, who then proceeded to botch what should have been a very promising career — oh, well. Also features the very rare "Lesson Well Learned," from the influential Metal Massacre, Vol. 2 compilation.

ARMORED SAINT!!!!
This was the soundtrack to my youth! I had this on vinyl...(lost it in Hurricane Katrina in NOLA in 2005 - It was autographed by the band when I finally got to see them at Tipitina's in Oct of 1991...) You can not deny the power of the opening song "Lesson Well Learned". When this came out in 1983 this blew our minds! We were instantly hooked. I love this version of "False Alarm" better than the first LP because of the rawness and the great closer of "On the Way" with the lyrics "Sometimes you'll go through hell first, but in end you'll be at Heaven's door" spoke volumes to me in my youth and more so as an adult after trying to rebuild my life after losing everything in that storm. This is a must for any fan of the 1980's metal moment. Armored Saint is one of the greatest exports to ever come out of the L.A. scene. I'm glad that Brian Slagel at Metal Blade took the chance on this great band back then and still backs them up with their current release "La Raza", which rules too!!!
