Album Review

Fistful of Mercy is entirely too aggressive a name for the ramshackle trio of Ben Harper, Joseph Arthur, and Dhani Harrison, a group of neo-hippies whose respective circles conjoined so they decided to strum some acoustic guitars together and see what happened. What happened was a collection of nine pleasant folk-rock tunes tinged with a little blues and a lot of softly psychedelic twists reminiscent of Dhani’s dad, George. The melodies may recall the elder Harrison but the overall feel is uncannily CSN at their softest, the harmonies always gentle and the tempos never moving any faster than a lazy stroll. The mellow vibes are appealing in their own lackadaisical way.

Customer Reviews

This album is amazing! its a mixture of blues, rock, folk, and alternative.. amazing collaboration..

Why is there so many bad reviews???? i can't believe it actually. and bought the album despite the fact and i tell you this is MORE THAN AMAZING.. and the comment about this album having NO SOUL.. please thats the entire opposite. i have listened to this up to Fistful of Mercy (which im on right now) and all of these songs are different and beautiful in their own respect. I love this trio i'm glad they came together, Music needs this kind of refreshing style. its not your typical mainstream music, its far from it but thats whats refreshing about it. This music is very emotional and you can close your eyes and just drift into the melody.. I give this 5 stars and more. I really am impressed by this and i still cannot believe how many bad reviews there are on this... I almost question the music tastes of the others who reviewed... If your only into commercialized/mainstream music this is NOT the album for you. But if your into great artists like George Harrison, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Lenoard Cohen, a mixture of Blues, Soul, Country, and Folk.. this album is right up your alley! Fist Full Of Mercy is the best trio i've seen in a LONG TIME! and i'm looking forward to more! Keep it up guys and thankyou for giving me some amazing tunes!

Terrible!

I could not wait for this CD to come out based upon the song"Fistful of Mercy". Well, after I listen to the tracks of the rest of the cd, I realize that none of the other songs on the cd sounds like this song. It is a wide variety of songs that range from country to I don't know. Try listening to the samples before you purchase. Fistful is such a great song, not sure why they went in the direction they did with the rest of the cd!

Fistful of Mercy

Fistful of Mercy's song Father's Son stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it,just a great soulful song.

Featuring a three-part harmonies and a casual, folksy sound, Fistful of Mercy is a supergroup comprised of Ben Harper, Dhani Harrison, and Joseph Arthur.
