God is speaking...are you listening?
I love music. Music in itself has a way of touching our hearts that many other things cannot even come close to. As a Christian I know why I feel such a drawing to music and I understand why I think something is beautiful. God makes everything in life make sense, He is the creator of music and as such He always is making something new. In the Psalms(biblical songs) it says to sing a new song. Christian music of the past century has largely failed at this, we have stayed stagnant(not embracing rock was catastrophic) so long that now Christian music is accepted in its mediocrity. I am not saying that all Christian bands are mediocre I am saying on a whole it has become so. This band 'Ascend the Hill'(along with a growing number of other bands) is taking not only Christian music but music in general in the right direction. Christian music is not trying to be like the secular at this point but instead create something new, God is doing something new and we should embrace it. God created music, music in itself is not evil there is no satanic note or instrument(as some churches may believe). If we contrinue to search for God instead of worry about how we should worship then we will create new and exciting music unlike anything ever heard. God is eternally the same but he is always creating new things, don't limit Him to just one form of music. This music is something new but I feel God is moving in this. Ascend the Hill is listening to God (I know this because I saw them live) now we should be open to listening to God and finding his will for music and life. As Misty Edwards says," He doing a new thing, so we're singing a new song". God bless you all.
Pure Joy
This band is surely one of the best out there. This a true worship album. It's not congested with popular worship songs but with heart felt worship. Songs like "Joy" and "Love" are driving pieces that do not compromise. "Come like you promised" are so moving that one can't help but raise their hands. Good Job to Come & Live for recognizing this wonderful talent.
