Ryan does NOT disappoint.
I preordered and received my digital downloads today; Ryan is as genius as ever. I'm extremely glad to see him going back to the straight alt-country styling he displayed on albums such as Heartbreaker and Love is Hell (There's even a bit of this album that reminds me of Demolition) and nothing he does here comes up short. This is the Ryan Adams album Ryan Adams fans have wanted. It has the melancholic lyrics we're used to and the instrumentation perfect for autumn that'll transition so well into winter. If you're looking for heartfelt country music that isn't anything like what you hear on the radio (I like to oh-so-affectionately refer to it as "beer, God, women, my-truck-is-bigger-than-yours music"), this is worth a listen - or five. Or ten. This has album of the year potential for me. tl;dr: A wonderous outing for Adams.

After two years away, could this be the album that introduces him to the masses. The guitar solo on "Lucky Now" is so moving...

Been a fan since Heartbreaker. Glad to say, Ryan Adams is back. Love every track. Pure quality.
