Fermin Muguruza is doubtlessly one of the most influential and charismatic artists in the Basque musical world. He grew up at a time of key social and political changes for Euskadi and in the past twenty years he has played in almost every corner of the worl. Fermin claims Basque culture loud and clearly as his own: he wants it open, sensitive and ready to take in influences from travels and meetings, proposing a third way between violence and deafness: permanent political rebellion. This rebellion is grounded in sensitivity to social issues, taking into account the harsh reality of a divided country. Like other remixed albums Fermin got his best friends to remix “Asthmatic Lion Sound Systema” (i.e. Zion Train, Rude Dj or Rob Smith), and as usual, he ‘s added new tunes of his own – in this case there are 6 of them- which he calls “possible soundtracks”, such as the last track entitled “Gelditu AHT!” which fits perfectly for a documentary about social agitation and revolutionary movements against the destructive macro economics projects managed by international trusts.
