EPIC.
Blind Guardian is, and in my opinion, forever will be the greatest symphonic/power metal band out there. Nothing else compares to the fantastical journey that begins with Sacred Worlds, an orchestral masterpiece that builds you up and knocks you down with brute force. The vocals on all tracks are outstanding and thunderous as usual, making this album another fine addition to Blind Guardian discography.
Some of my favorite tracks are, "Tanelorn", "Control the Divine", "A Voice In the Dark", and "Wheel of Time".
BUY THIS ALBUM.
Outstanding
Man, I would recommend this entire album simply for Wheel of Time. But then, you would also have 16 other outstanding tracks. Blind Guardian takes symphonic power metal to the next level.
There just isn't anything else like this to compare with. You should buy this Album.

Keep in mind, I have had this album for about a month(ordered it online), so I'm not some fan that heard it once and automatically gives it 5 stars based on one listen.
Now that you know where I'm comong from, here is my review:
This album has some great songs, but also some not-so-great songs.
The standout tracks for me were: Sacred Worlds, Road of No Release, Valkyries, A Voice in the Dark, and Wheel of Time.
Curse my Name and Tanelorn are neutral, although they are growing on me even still.
I am not so fond of Ride into Obsession, Control the Divine, and War of the Thrones. It's not that they are "bad" songs, I just find them boring when compared to the standout tracks.
War of the Thrones in particular dissapointed me. Here you have this incredible piano opening, and Hansi comes in with some sad lyrics(nothing will grow here, icy fields, beckoned sorrow...) that instantly pull you in, but then the chorus comes. It's not horrible, it just does not fit the song. I don't know, it just sounds wrong to me, too pop-ish perhaps?
Fear not though, the album as a whole is still great. Sacred Worlds is beyond epic, Curse my Name and Valkyries are a good fit in the middle, and Wheel of Time is an obvious choice to close the album.
Hansi sounds great as ever, Andre and Marcus still play some incredible riffs, and Frederik plays the drums better and faster than the last album, and at times reminds me of Thomen.
In conclusion, this is neither Blind Guardians best work, nor their worst. I feel it is an above average album for them, 4 stars compared to their other great works. 4 stars for a Blind Guardian album easily translates into a 5 star iTunes rating, hence the reason I gave them 5.
I must say I am very pleased with this album though. I love the direction they took, and I feel "At the Edge of Time" is much stronger as a whole compared with "A Twist in the Myth".
For anyone that is just getting into Blind Guardian's work and enjoyed this album, I suggest getting "Nightfall in Middle-Earth", "A Night at the Opera", and "Imaginations from the Other Side", in that order.
