A stunning surprise!
A friend of mine sent this CD to me, and when I saw the title "Atmosphere" I kind of rolled my eyes thinking "Oh dear, not ANOTHER New Age CD with, let me guess, 'lush soundscapes', right? Blech!" So it sat on my desk for a bit until I finally gave it a whirl. My, my, was I surprised, and pleasantly I must add. This is so far beyond the norm, musically speaking, that Trotman really deserves his own genre. It's alive, vibrant, fascinating, and intricate. As a classically trained musician, I bore quite easily with many genres, but "Atmosphere" had me captivated the entire way through. Bravo! This is a rare synth based CD that will be heard in my household for some time to come -- right in there with Jarre!
