You'd be a fool not to have this in your music library.
This is one of Matt Good's best releases. His first solo release after finishing with the band, this album outshines any of the previous work. The first single, Weapon, might be one of his best recordings to date. I think what really makes the album though, are the longer tracks. The title track, Avalanche, and then also While We Were Hunting Rabbits and Near Fantastica. Those three tracks give the album a grand, bigger then life feeling. I highly recommend this album to anyone and everyone, and I guarantee, once you play this, you'll be hooked and will have to purchase all of his other albums.
A Great Artist Little Known In U.S.
For all of the success that the Matthew Good Band achieved in Canada during the late 90s, it never translated into an across-the-border hit. Our loss. Good's 2003 solo release proved that he had more great songs in him and a drive to push his development with each subsequent release.
THIS MAN IS THE TRUTH
I have to say that Itunes has made the right move in bringing Matthew back to the US. Highly recommended for anyone that is into solid music, & ear catching melodies. His lyrics are as honest as you will hear. I thought Avalanche would always be my favorite CD EVER, but it seems Mr. Good has outdone himself with the upcoming Hospital Music. Grab either as soon as you can.
