Great Guitarist, Great Instrumental Rock CD
Fans of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and other guitar greats will dig this CD. As a guitarist myself, I appreciate Rob's use of the whammy bar, wah pedal, and stellar technique in furthering the song and not just proving that he can play at the expense of the song. Metz covers a lot pf ground stylistically and the songs have memorable hooks, which IMO is critical in making instrumental rock tunes great. "Axis Shift" is a compelling, well produced CD with much to offer fans of guitar-based instrumentals.
Fun Rock Record
This collection of tunes is a great example of how fun instrumental rock can be! Rob Mixes old fashioned hard rock guitar with various world musics and atmospheric sound-scapes! Guitarists should definately check this one out!
