Awesome Brandenburgs
The great thing about this recording is that the American Bach Soloists use different 'continuo' configurations for each concerto. They've got two harpsichords for the 1st; organ for the 2nd; harpsichord, organ, and lute (!) for the 3rd; harpsichord and lute for the 4th; harpsichord solo (of course) for the 5th; and 2 lutes (yum!) for the 6th. And the bass instruments change appropriately for each concerto, too. The soloists are astonishing: amazing trumpet playing and the violin soloist for the Fourth Brandenburg is on fire! This is a must have.
