iTunes Review
Randy Bachman and Fred Turner made classic rock as Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Their “Takin’ Care of Business” has never left FM radio and their big, brawny punch still sounds as powerful today as it did back in the ‘70s. “Rollin’ Along,” off their 2010 self-titled release, could easily have been recorded back in the glory days as it stomps along just like their eternal hit. “That’s What It Is” features the band’s original gallop and tight powerchords. Not quite as catchy as “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” yet it still centers on the festive air of a tight rock n’ roll band that have never taken themselves too seriously. Moonlight Rider” is more creeping powerchords and ensemble vocals meant to fill a hockey arena. “Slave to the Rhythm” is the perfect celebratory anthem here and “Rock and Roll is the Only Way Out” is a hilarious audience-participation number. Tunes such as “Waiting Game” and “Can’t Go Back to Memphis” keep the hard-rock tradition alive. “Traffic Jam” is an expressive extended piece. “Repo Man” is a scorcher. They may be older, but there’s nothing compromised here.

70s Flashback
The song "That's What It Is" is such a 70s flashback I can almost see my carpet turning into shag and black lights dropping out of the ceiling. Excuse me while I go cruise in my van now.
It's Been Way Too Long
It's so great to hear two of the greatest voices in rock & roll back together. I've got everything BTO ever did and have owned 'Not Fragile' on LP, 8 track, cassette, CD and mp3. I still love to crank 'Second Hand' up to 10 once in a while. Despite the fact that you still hear their songs used in commercials and other places these guys never get the credit they're due for the stamp they put on rock and roll in their heyday. It's great to hear them again in fine form. Wouldn't mind a Blair Thornton solo on the next release though.
Like they never left!
I listened to this cd yesterday after I bought it and I love it! It's like Fred Turner and Randy Bachman never left BTO. This is pretty much BTO, not B & T since the two voices of BTO are in the band and in prime form. Rollin Along is definitely radio worthy and is the best song on the cd, a killer way to lead off a cd! Moonlight Rider features Randy at his best, creating a riff that sounds a lot like Cream in the 60's. Rock and Roll is the Only Way Out is definitely true; it's always the right way out of any problem; it has a killer chorus that would for sure get the crowd going! Neutral Zone has a very nice bassy intro riff and Fred's using his voice the same way he did back in the 70's. Repo Man, again, has a nice riff right in the beginning and Randy using his voice the same way he did back in the 70's also! Randy still can write the catchiest riffs for guitar and Fred still has the same powerful wall-blowin'-down voice he had in their early days. Same goes for Randy; got the same light voice to accompany Fred's perfectly.
To make this short...IT'S WORTH THE MONEY!!!
