I have known about Back Porch Mary since I was a freshman in high school, back in 2000-2001, and I didnt actually get into them until about a year ago, when I bought a rock cd by them called Gather. The chances of finding this cd are very very slim, unless you talk to someone close to the band. Anyway, their music is unlike anything I have ever heard. You may classify them as Southern Rock or whatever, and say, oh well Lynyrd Skynyrd sounds like this. But the fact is, they dont, so if you are looking for something new, something you havent yet heard, I suggest buying this album for starters. The band doesnt try to throw itself into any predefined category, so you never know what you may get from the three albums that you find on here. So this is my review of Back Porch Mary, hope you enjoyed it, they are well worth the money it takes to buy their album. Peace fellow music lovers.
What you've been looking for...
This is one outstanding album!! Every track has an energy that is sure to satisfy. If your taste in music sits some where between rock and Alt. country these guys are it. Coming from a big "Drive-By Truckers" fan, I like ALOT of rock with my roots...and these guys got it. I would recommend some tracks to sample, just pick one...they are all excellent. WHAT A FIND!
