iTunes Review
On Back to Black, her second album and U.S. debut, singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse defines her own tradition. With a deeply personal touch, she commands settings that meld torchy doo-wop era ballads, soul and girl-group slammers, and current hip-hop winners. Winehouse, already famous in her native England for reckless, tipsy behavior, topped the charts there with “Rehab,” a construction that wraps her protests that Ray Charles and Donny Hathaway are more help than a clinic could be in a forthright tribute to early-’60s radio that does the Ronettes and the Drifters proud. Despite the buzz from that instant anthem, Back to Black doesn’t shy from the heartbroken — and not just in the “Me and Mr. Jones”’ complaint that she missed a Slick Rick show. The title track brings the real pain, one more in an album of performances that certify the 23-year-old Winehouse as an undeniable master.

Most Likely To Be The Best Of 2007
I've had this album since '06. (It was released in Europe first.) If you liked her "Frank" album, well this one outshines it. If you haven't heard of her: you should take notice. This is the flyest album I've heard in a long time. Never mind the 50s sound to it because it's been modernized, and the lyrics keep it from sounding outdated. A. Winehouse's voice is the ----!!! She has crazy soul dripping from her voice, and her delivery is flawless. Check how the words come out on "Some Only War" when she says "Like you're reading my will". I was first struck by the joint "Rehab". (I saw the video.) This song is real sassy. I love when someone's mind is made up about something. And "Back To Black" sounds like something from an old Bond film. One of those white soul songs that reeks with "someone's gonna die" emotion. There's nothing more to say about this album. The only song that is good: "He Can Only Hold Her". Everything else is made for my small tiny classic pile. If you find yourself turning into a fan, look for her singles 'cause there's always a non-album cut. Corinne Bailey Rae, Fink, and now Amy WInehouse. Something's in the water over in the UK.
Too much
I'm speechless. This album is so good it makes me want to punch somebody.
Dark, Raw, Sexy - Fabulous!
i was unsure about purchasing this album at first, so i went back and listened to "You Know I'm No Good", iTunes - Single of the Week, and went thru and listened to all the samples one more time and decided what the heck and clicked buy and i'm soooo glad i did. this album is incredible. my fav tracks so far are "Rehab" and "Tears Dry On Their Own". Amy's voice is rich and dark and unlike anything else out there, she is a complete original. The album feels dark and sexy. The lyrics are brilliant, self depricating and witty, lonely at times, dirty (in the best possible way), and again sexy. a must buy!!! will end up on the "Best of '07" list FOR SURE!!! i highly recommend this album!!!! edit - after having this album on repeat for the last 24 hrs i feel i need to add a lil to my review thsi album is pure gold (and should go 10x platinum) in it's entirity! this is a no BS record, with no filler just straight up hits, one after another. i have yet to skip one track on this album. other stand out tracks to add to the aforementioned rehab and tears dry... are just friends and me & mr. jones but really they are all amazing but it's useless for me to list every track. you need this whole album!!!
