BackSpacer

This is a pretty good cd, but it has its flaws. Pearl Jam went through a disturbing trend of changing styles in their cds in the last decade, from following their roots and rocking, to making poppy, catchy tunes. This one reverted back to poppy, with Eddie completely losing his garbly lyrics that are a trademark. This cd still jams, but its not up to the high standard PJ set in the 90s. The Fixer and Just Breathe are the two most popular songs on this cd, but tracks like Got Some and Amongst the Waves show that PJ has still got the ability to rock while still showing meaning in the finished product.

Amazing Album.

But I got some beef to settle with iTunes. If your gonna delete a album off of iTunes and then put it back up, give it's ratings and review back atleast, don't just start it over. (this had thousands of ratings a month ago) ugh.

This album, like Riot Act, took me while to get into but eventually won me over

For some reason when I first heard the album about the only songs that I got into was Force of Nature (that surprisingly was not a hit for them) and Amongst the Waves. On repeat plays the whole album kept getting better. Yes it's short (36 minutes) but it really doesn't need to be any longer. When it's done I am not left feeling that the album was incomplete in any way.

Thanks to future Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons, the demo found its way to a 25-year-old San Diego surfer named Eddie Vedder, who overdubbed...
