Just Great Country.
I just have to say that these guys are fantastic. Now I mainly listen to rock but when it comes to country (which I grew up with) I love these guys. They also happen to be friends of the family. Probably the best thing about these guys is Andy, the Violin player. If you want an idea about how good he is check this out. They have a song called Orange Blossom Special where Andy plays his heart out. When they opened for Gretchen Wilson the strings were glowing and smoking he was playing so hard. When they opened for Charlie Daniels they were told not to play that song because Andy would have shown up Charlie. Unfortunatley they have not recorded that song yet but last I heard they were working on it. This is a great album and is not a waste of money.
Comfy music and Happel is great, too
Went for a walk in my town this evening and lo, the Don Campbell Band was playing right there, downtown! At first I recognized Andy Happel, and as the previous reviewer commented, he is amazing. If you ever get a chance to find albums by Thanks to Gravity, he was the front man/vocalist/violinist. (His former bandmate Sean is now the drummer for the DCB as well. Amazing music.) Looking forward to hearing more from DCB, the band just up the road from me that I've just "discovered." Thanks iTunes.
Backyard Holiday
I love all Don Campbell Music that the band produces. Don has a truly beautiful voice. It is clear and pure and perfect with a wide range and the band adds amazing harmonies. His band mates are all great musicians in their own right and the combination makes wonderful music. My favorites on this cd are Backyard Holiday, Freedom Fighters, One Lifetime, Place Behind the Sun, Mr Bill Gates, Front Porch Picker, but there isn't one that I don't enjoy, they are all great. I have favorites on each of Don's cds. Can't wait for his family cd to come out this December.
