Recording Engineers to the Fore Please!
These guys are the other main reason why I return each year to the Highland Games. Because they are the BOYS!!. There's nothing more fun than hearing them turn stately dry bagpipe tradition into a rollicking ransack of a good time, with a little world fusion thrown in for good measure. Though they have clever tunes, excellent chops, and fine fun even in the studio, on this album they've finally managed to catch the electric excitable quality they're famous for in concert -- but I must say it's just hard to capture a beautifully recorded sound quality in a huge field in heat so high you could fry eggs on your monitor. Somehow I long for both saturated studio sound AND in-concert verve. I hope that happens soon; but in the meantime, do get this, it's worth it. And GO SEE THEM, they're wonderfully fun.

Go To IUMA.com and download the Wicked Tinkers songs for free. Can't use them in IPOD but you can preveiw a song,in total, BEFORE you pay for it. I still don't understand why Apple doesn't do that. 30 seconds just doesn't do it for me.

I just wanted to say that the "Amazing Grace" lead into "Scotland the Brave" is one of the most riveting tracks I've ever listened to. Excellent work!
