If only there was more!

The sound quality is surprisingly good for a recording from 1981. I wish there was more material from New Clear Days, but whatever, finding ANYTHING that the Vapors did live is a fantastic find. If you're new to these guys, get the first album and if you don't like it, you don't like music from that era. Simply put, the Vapors were great. Their most recognizable song from their debut album just might be my least favorite...and it's catchy and YOU know it if you like 80's new wave. Too bad Sixty Second Interval or Spring Collection didn't make this live release.

Led by vocalist/guitarist Dave Fenton, the Vapors were a short-lived new wave guitar group that is best known for the spiky pop single "Turning Japanese." Fenton formed the first version of the Vapors in 1978, yet he was the only member to survive that lineup; in 1979, former Ellery Bops members Ed Bazalgette (lead guitar) and Howard Smith (drums) joined the band, and bassist Steve Smith came aboard shortly afterward.
