Album Review
The debut album by Edna's Goldfish is 12 tracks' worth of third wave ska-punk, closer to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (thanks partially to lead singer Brian Riaz's no-nonsense vocal style and the upfront use of an excellent brass section) than the poppier likes of No Doubt. It's not until the last song, "Gone Away," that the tempo slows down from the double-time jump of the opening "I'm Your Density" into something that's merely peppy; anyone trying to dance to the entirety of this brief album would most likely collapse from exhaustion by the time the driving, punky "This Is Not Here" shows up just over a third of the way through. Dancing is the most appropriate response to these good-timey tunes, however; more reflective listening brings the group's songwriting deficiencies (mostly pedestrian lyrics and samey melodies) into sharper relief.

Seriously...if you listened to ska punk/ 3rd wave ska in the late 90s this was the end of the best. Living in NYC at the time you could easily count on an Edna's show practically every other week. Ahhh...The Moonska NYC days...best times of my life. Download this now.
Absolutely Amazing!
Catchy, exciting, fun, and just pure awesome! a must have for anyone the only bad thing is that they only have 1 album, but its totally worth it and then some! i bought it a few weeks and its basically all ive been listening to! (i haven't been listening to streetlight manifesto, mustard plug, or reel big fish because of them!!)
