Sutherland & Pavarotti

I prefer the earlier with Sutherland & Horne, but Pavarotti makes up for it, John Alexander's voice just wasn't flexible enough for Pollione; but he beat out Mario del Monaco. I heard Alexander with Sills & Troyanos in Norma Live at Ravinia in Chicago. Florence Foster Jenkins, Anna Russell and Peter Schickele would have made a better cast. I refuse to choose between Callas & Sutherland as both of them owned this role. Scotto & Caballe are great also ran contenders.
