Music For Intelligent Vampires
I've been following "A93" on the web for a while and was very glad to see this collection finally released: More glad to actually hear it. Though the band classes itself as Gothic/Industrial Metal, I'd type "Under The Cypress Tree" as Music for Intelligent Vampires. This is the thinking man's metal expertly executed by a power trio that knows how to give a voice to some of life's grit. Excellent guitar work, lyrics deep and dark as an abandoned well. Hope to hear more releases soon, bought the whole album!
An Intense Masterpiece
Agrippa93 may be new to you - but not to me. I have been listening to these songs for over 6 years - when they consisted of one guy (Agrippa) in his living room recording on a Mac. In those days, it was a one-man-band. Lyrics, vocals, drums, bass, synths, guitar - all recorded into Logic Pro, mixed, and mastered at all hours of the night. Over the years, these songs have been fine-tuned - note by note - like a skilled surgeon with a scalpel, leading to a heart-pounding group (with the addition of sensational bass and guitar players) that will leave you wanting more. Kicking off with City of Pyramids, you get right into the heart of the band - massive guitars and drums that slam right into the depths of your soul. Want something that will really get your blood flowing? Flip over to Death By Inhalation and you'll get more than you could imagine. With a heavy rhythm and growls that rumble in the background - this is one song that will really get you moving. From the ripping guitars in LVX to the haunting lyrics of Face of Fear - this CD has it all. Led by Agrippa's haunting lyrics that stir images deep from within the soul, Agrippa93 breaks out with their first CD that will blow your doors off. Beneath the Cypress Tree is a masterpiece of 6 years worth of sweat and tears. If you like NIN with a kick - you'll love these guys. Do yourself a favor and get this CD.
