A classic artist through the years....

Bonnie Raitt calls to mind a singer/slide guitarist interpeter/writer who came on the scene back in the early 70's
and at 21 sang and played some cool slide guitar blues well beyound her years. She mixed in some nice country blues/R & B
and folk and always a soulful deep delivery. I fell in love with her when I was 15 back in 1972 going into high school
thanks to a friends older sister and their awesome music collection. Drifting away from her first 3 albums Bonnie
starting dipping her toes into singer/songwriter pop but always had a bluesy delivery but with each new one, less
appeal always compared to the first 3 albums. I enjoyed everything highlighted on this collection, Bonnie always
had so many excellent cuts on each of her offerings. Classy, soulful, real, opinionated, smart, heartfelt, adult, so
many catch phrases sum up Bonnie Raitts music but for most the music on here has been the soundtrack to
their lifes ups and downs and no one sings about heart ache and delivery better than Raitt. Everything came together the night of the Grammy's back in 1990, years of being overlooked finally paid off and Bonnie's music was put on the spot light
and boy did she shine in the collections that followed, she got radio play finally and sold millions. What I had always hoped for came true, Bonnie's music had reached more than a cult of music lovers of blues tinged rock, pop, soul, folk
and country blues stylings. These songs highlight just a sampling of Bonnie Raitt, a true American legend and a friend
to so many musical greats from the 50's and 60's , even from the early 20 century. I look to Bonnie to be putting out
quality music for years to come, just like all those she championed all through her career. These songs will endure
for years into the future thanks to such quality to detail and her simple direct connection to people.

and thats that

We need more from Ms Raitt

Caught Haley on American Idol and she reminded me I missed hearing Bonnie Raitt. Love the classics but wouldn't be mad if she gave me something new to talk about!

Long a critic's darling, singer/guitarist Bonnie Raitt did not begin to win the comparable commercial success due her until the release of the aptly titled 1989 blockbuster Nick of Time; her tenth album, it rocketed her into the mainstream consciousness nearly two decades after she first committed her unique blend of blues, rock, and R&B to vinyl.
