Super Duper Hits contains all 12 singles that Joss Stone recorded during her six years with EMI Records, with the Jamie Hartman duet “Stalemate” added to give the collection a lucky 13. Stone made her name at just 16 years of age, singing with a passion and purity wise beyond her years; she was a natural soul singer who could sing with a true funk. Her cover of The White Stripes’ “Fell in Love with a Boy” is an immediate attraction, as Stone sings it like she’s falling over herself in delirium. “Super Duper Love” could be an outtake from Stax Records. “You Had Me” has a sassy modernity atop its R&B roots. “Don’t Cha Wanna Ride,” her U.S. hit, defines a line between R&B and hip-hop. Her workout on “Tell Me What We’re Gonna Do Now,” featuring Common, is a further expression of her unusual talent and creativity. As a British teen transitioning to adulthood, Stone is flawless. But then, she had everything she needed from her earliest sessions.

This young woman is going to be around for a long time. Her voice makes me want to cry and dance.
Her voice reminds me of Mama Joplin,
And her soul reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughn. She's already a contender. I'm 57 years old, and I haven't been this excited since The Rolling Stones brought their music to the world! Keep it going Little Mama. I'm also in love with Super Heavy.
