The Most Talented Singer on the Planet
I have been listening to this amazing singer since last year. Her name is Karlijn Verhagen, and she lives in Holland. Karlijn is just 14 years old and yet has the voice of a super star Diva. This song is a very soulful song that can only be sung properly by singers that actually were brought up to sing Gospel or Soul or Rhythm and Blues. Beyonce, the original singer of this song, of course, grew up in the roots of soul. She was brought up singing gospel music and was influenced by many of the legendary singers like Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and Diana Ross. That is what is so incredible about Karlijn. She is growing up in a major city in Holland, where soul music can only be heard on TV , and through other media. Yet without any experience or lifestyle as lets say of a kid growing up in West Philadelphia or Harlem in New York, she is able to bring out of her amazing voice the same exact soulful sound of a well seasoned veteran like the incomparable Beyonce.
I asked Karlijn once who is your greatest influence and she answered many incredible singers including one amazing Christina Aguilara.
Christina has been called by many as "the voice of her generation" and "the blue eyed soulful singer" and draws influences from some of the most famous legends of soul of all time, including Etta James, whose classic "At Last" has been covered by Christina throughout her career. Now, the neophite soul singer Karlijn Verhagen from Holland carries on the tradition in the same powerful style and sings "Best Thing I Never Had" effortlessly and flawlessly along with her sidekick Robin who have teamed up to make quite a combination. Robin is an amazing musician with endless talent. He plays many instruments and blends well with Karlijn's genuine energy and powerful sound
I can say here unequivacally, that Karlijn is a singer on the rise and will be making her presence felt in all types of music genres.
