Better Off Live
I watched and listened to Valerio, Orlando and Scott methodically put together a sound that is very much their own. It's easy to pass this cd off as another pop/jazz, pablum effort, but don't be fooled. They've made the covers sound fresh and exciting and their own material, I'm sure, is going to grow at leaping bounds. As an artist myself I've grown into a more jazzier kind of artist but still love this stuff. The guys have also supplemented their trio unit with some smokin' cats and the entire product shows that these guys are just getting started. Loved the whole thing. Get it, y'all! Background music? I DON'T THINK SO!
Better Off Live
This album is a masterpiece. Each musician brings passion, creativity, and a unique vision. It is soulfully energizing.
Great record, great concept!
I LOVE this record. This band have been able to revamp some of my favorite fusion and pop standards in a totally fresh and creative way, finding a common 'groove' denominator that makes all the covers fit together with their original songs (I believe that Tracks # 3, 8, 9, 11 & 13 are their own compositions...). This is smooth-jazz/Chapter #2, music that you might listen to while you are at work or just relaxing; easy-listening tunes, but played with energy and expressivity.
