Queens of rap

Great beat and flow, Salt's flow is sick... and she's still fine, great song. Maybe female rappers will get back to putting a message out there again... The Queens from Queens are back

The Queens from Queens Are BACK!!!!

You remember the voices...strong willed, loud, powerful and insisting to be heard. Those voices belong to legendary icons of hip hop, Salt N Pepa, whose latest single, "Big Girls" is a message that has been sorely missed and long overdue. "Girls" makes its point strongly and effectively. With a nod to the old school via an 808 beat and modern skittery percussion and claps, the ladies state their sense of purpose with lyrics that singelhandedly shoot down every misogynistic rhyme a male rapper has ever penned or mouthed ("Big girls got more than how they look on their brains, big girls need more than just material thangs...Big girls, want men, not thugs, big girls need real love"). Only Salt N Pepa could make a track like this. A triumphant return to form for the true queens of hip hop.

Props!

Glad the girls are still in the game!

They were also one of the first rap artists to cross over into the pop mainstream, laying the groundwork for the music's widespread acceptance in the early '90s. Salt-n-Pepa were more pop-oriented than many of their contemporaries,...
