Music for the Brain
'Birds' reveals layers of meaning with repeated listening. And it's excellent. There's also the more immediate pleasure of the diverse sounds and arrangements with the band... and Briggs's great vocals. Only other comment: I'm left wanting more intimate songs with simpler messages, where you can tell she's invested the emotion in the singing just as much as in the writing. Overall, great listening.
Awesome
Having been such a big fan of "Spark" I bought this albumn when it first came out and it still one of favorites. The quirky and clever lyrics accompanied with amazing vocals will have you singing along in no time. Her vocal and song writing talents can also be appreciated on Cross Canadian Ragweed's "Happiness or something like it" albumn (that I also highly reccomend) where she sings backup and co-wrote several songs. I can't wait for her next albumn to come out!
