Customer Reviews
Not Chris Cornell but strangely good
Somehow the songs still sound good, even with different bands singing them... I'm particulary drawn to Blow Up the Outside World, and Jesus Christ Pose both bands do excellent with songs only avid listeners will know. With that being said the two standards actually sound quite excellent, they being Black Hole Sun, and Fell on Black Days. These two I find sound too much like the original without much change, to spice it up or distinguish themselves. The rest are decent I like to listen to them and the original, and pick-out the differences. All-in-all it contributes to the Soundgarden section of my Ipod quite well. I actually give this 4.5 stars not 4.
Alright Album, but I mostly just like the first song
Its not a bad tribute album. Although I am biased, my favorite song is the Black Hole Sun cover by my good friends, Destrophy. Its much different than their normal work, but I still like this cover.
Obviously NOT Chris Cornell
All this album does is highlight how few talented rock singers exist these days. I realize that these guys probably aren't trying to be Chris Cornell, but I don't care who you are, when covering a song he sings you're voice is going to pale in comparison thereby making the song sound like garbage. Skip this and buy an actual Soundgarden album.
