Hauntingly Excellent

     

I stumbled into this score just by browsing - I had seen the movie, but didn't particularly remember the score. I have to say, I'm quite impressed. In a day where most horror scores are just strings being scraped up and down, this score stands out. The entire work is works as a whole with its slow, oppressive tones, continually building to an inexorable end. I only wish more horror scores could be like this one. The use of off-beat instrumentation and sound effects is done just right and never over-the-top. Highly recommended for folks who like horror scores.
